What is the SPACE Model?

SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions) is a parent-based approach developed at the Yale Child Study Center to help reduce child anxiety—without putting pressure on the child to change.  Instead of trying to “fix” your child’s anxiety directly, SPACE focuses on how you respond. The goal is to support your child while gradually reducing the unhelpful accommodations that feed anxiety.

In this course you will learn how to...

Reduce Anxiety Fueled behaviours...

...without removing every trigger

Respond supportively....

....without giving in to fear

Build your child's confidence and resilience...

...one small shift at a time
